uTouchPOS Making a Cash Sale

Once everything has been set up correctly in the UTouch software for your business, you are ready to begin making sales. To make a sale using any method of payment, you will first need to click on either “Quick Sale” or "Dine In", located on the main screen. "Dine In" will be used for customers that will be assigned a table to sit at in your restaurant. You will select the correct table on your screen to enter the sale before clicking on the "Dine In" button. "Quick Sale" will be used for all other orders, and does not require you to select a table.

Once you have opened Quick Sale or Dine In, you will add all of the items to be purchased into an order by clicking on the correct item buttons on the order screen. To add the items to the order, you will navigate through the group buttons (located at the top) to find the appropriate menu items (located underneath the group buttons). Click on an Item button to add it to the order.

Once you have entered all the appropriate items into the order, you are ready to accept payment.


Click on “Payment”, select “Cash”. Under “Tended Amount”, enter the amount of cash that the customer has given you. If the customer has given you the exact change, you can instead click on “Exact”. If you accept Tips, you can also enter the tip amount in the “Gratuity (Tip)” bar when needed. When you type in this information, UTouch Software will automatically calculate the amount of change that you need to return to the customer. The change amount will be shown in the “Remaining Balance” bar.

To complete the sale, you will click “Enter” to complete the payment. If you are using Dine In, you will see the table on the main screen is now available to seat the next customers.
